The EyCon (Early Conflict Photography) database represents the work of a research project based at the University of Loughborough, the Labex Passés dans le Présent (Université Paris Nanterre) and the LARCA (Université Paris Cité). The project brings together specialists from different backgrounds to produce innovative research at the intersection of computer science, archival studies and history. The team has located, collected or digitised from partner institutions, and published online photographs documenting armed conflict from the 1890s to 1918, with a focus on imperial and colonial terrains. This platform makes this digital archive publicly available online. Please note that different licences apply.
